The study of 1,600 men and women found that the more active participants were, the more they lost weight.
“A person who spends more time working out and doing other physical activity, even when they are not actually exercising, can have a greater impact on their body weight and weight loss,” the study authors wrote.
“We suggest that the most effective way to lose body weight is to have more physical activity.”
According to the study, those who exercised more had a 50 percent greater body fat percentage.
This means that they had a 40 percent higher body fat and a 25 percent higher waist-to-hip ratio.
And those who did more moderate exercise had a 33 percent higher fat percentage, a 32 percent higher BMI and a 29 percent higher thigh-to–hip ratio, the study found.
The most active participants also had the best waist-bias.
According to researchers, people who worked out regularly had the lowest waist-ratio.
So if you’re not exercising and your waist-line isn’t getting any better, then exercise is definitely a better way to get the body you want.
